My name is Mollie McConnell, and I am the Special Educator for 2nd and 4th grade this year. In 2014-15, I am going into the General Education classrooms at both grade levels to work with the classroom teachers during instruction. In 2nd grade, I am teaching with Mrs. Andera during ELA and Math. In 4th grade, I am in Mrs. Minnekine's room for writing and Mrs. Mentley's room for Math instruction. My aides also go into both grade levels to assist students during instruction. In addition, I provide Resource Room services to my students with Individualized Education Programs, which consists of pull-out services in small groups and small group work in the General Education classrooms.
Previously, I have provided Special Education services at CLVCS for grade three thru six as a Resource Room teacher, Consultant teacher, and a 12:1:1 teacher. I began my teaching career in Franklinville, where I worked with students as a Resource Room teacher, a Consultant teacher, and a 12:1:1 teacher in the Elementary for five years.
I am a graduate of Little Valley Central School, earning my Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from SUNY Geneseo, and my Master's Degree in Reading at St. Bonaventure University.
Working with parents, other teachers, and specialists to find the key to open up learning for our students has been a great experience for me! I consider it a privilege to share in the "growing" of your children's minds and hearts. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you have. In the Elementary, my phone number is 257-3436 ext. 2254 (Room 254).
